The Independent Publisher Book Award (The IPPY Award), is the longest-running contest open exclusively to independent presses. As noted on the IPPY website, the awards "reward those who exhibit the courage, innovation, and creativity to bring about change in the world of publishing.
The Independent Press Award (The IPA Award), is one of the world's most prestigious book award programs for independent authors, publishers, and illustrators. The 2025 IPA drew submissions from journalists, established authors, and small, medium, and large publishers across the globe, including Australia, Canada, the Dominican Republic, France, Hong Kong, Japan, Portugal, Scotland, Singapore, Spain, United Kingdom, and United States.
